The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2009. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
When Chinese food is good, it's so very good, and the authentic dishes coming out of the Emperor of China, 1010 E. Brady St., are precisely that.
Recognizing the specialization in Szechwan, Hunan, Shanghai, Peking or Cantonese cooking techniques, Emperor of China's menu celebrates the diversity in regional Chinese cooking.
On the menu, classics like chow mein, egg foo yung, sweet and sour pork and Mongolian beef collide with house specialties like lava chicken, kung pao shrimp and the Emperor's seafood. With a classy, well-maintained dining room, it's a perfect afternoon stop for great lunch deals. All made to order and served piping hot, you'll get a true taste of China either dining in or carrying out.

I would HIGHLY have to disagree. I think Fortune on Highway 100 is phenomenal.

The prices might be kind of high for dinner - but their lunch menu is a great value.

I don't understand the love for this place. They seem to use quality ingrediants and have great appitiezers, but the food is overpriced and bland. I've been there a number of times and I'm always disappointed that I ordered anything more than soup and rangoons.
