It appears that old-school Mexican joint Acapulco Restaurant, 606 W. National Ave., has called it quits after decades in Walker's Point. The windows are dark and the telephone has been disconnected with no new information.
Even with newer, nicer Mexican restaurants popping up in the area, Acapulco was still heralded as an affordable place to get a decent meal and the fact that is served a Mexican breakfast around the clock was popular with the bar-time crowd.
There is no word yet on what might replace the restaurant, but stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for more details as they develop.
