The owners of the Calderone Club restaurants, the Fazzari Restaurant Group, have been awarded a liquor license for the former Stub's Pub/Lukas' on State/The Daily Planet/The Tamarack at 322 W. State St.
Owner Giorgio "Gino" Fazzari says he's developing plans for a new location. OMC will continue to follow the development.
The former owners of Stub's Pub included Milwaukee business people Jim Lombardo of Bell Ambulance, Gary Grunau, Bryce Edwards and others.
In other downtown dining news, Yanni's is opening in "early summer" at 520 E. Mason inside the beautiful new Cathedral Place building. The owner is Danny Goumenos and his restaurant will feature steaks, chops and seafood. City records indicate that Goumenos is investing $300,000 into building out the new space.
Sources also tell OnMilwaukee.com that The Wyndham Hotel is opening a new restaurant/bar on Water St. parallel to City Hall this summer. More info to come.
