I'm all about promoting good people who are doing good things. That's why I'll use this blog to trumpet another local success, even though I just wrote about her a few weeks ago.

She's Shanel Regier. And yes, my wife owns a store in the Historic Third Ward that sells her clothing. But this young designer is poised for big things. And, I, as a passionate ambassador for Milwaukee, think you need to know even more about her and the national recognition that she's getting.

Regier made last Friday's issue of WWD (Women's Wear Daily). The magazine is the fashion bible for the industry. It's a big deal. The article includes photos to two of Regier's Spring 2007 Collection, sold exclusively at Lela (my wife's store).

As I mentioned recently, Regier also was named by Gen Art as a "Fresh Face" in fashion and stole the show during Chicago Fashion Week at Gen Art's Sept. 25 show.
