The Summerfest grounds will get "X-Gamed" at the end of the month as the Board Shop in Lake Geneva, in conjunction with Red Bull, Mastercraft Boats, Reef footwear and Liquid Force wakeboarding, brings professional wakeboard competition to the lagoon at the Summerfest Grounds on Monday, Aug. 28.
After last year's inaugural launch of the Double Up Del Noche in Lake Geneva, organizers are hopping to give the event a bigger stage and have invited
30 of the world's top professional wakeboarders, including Andrew Adkison, Rusty Malinowski, Danny Harf, Ben Greenwood, Daniel Watkins, Parks Bonifay and hometown hero Eric Ruck.
The 2006 Double Up Del Noche begins at 7 p.m. and the event intentionally falls on the heels of the World Wakeboard Association (WWA) Nationals in Kenosha.
"We knew many of the athletes would be here for the WWA Nationals so that helps quite a bit to have such an impressive roster within miles of your event the weekend before," say Jayson Rishling, event organizer and owner of The Board Shop.
"Add into the mix that our event is so different from most everything else, thanks in large part to the great location, its free and of course the incredible stadium lighting set up provided by Red Bull, we definitely plan on having even a better turnout this year."
