Milwaukee's newest nightclub, Texture will open in the former Fly Bar space at 606 S. 5th St. on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
The space has been completely gutted and rebuilt into a colorful, lively club, with a new patio and outdoor bar. The upstairs is revamped with neon and plastic, and the downstairs now has two VIP lounges with plasma televisions, plush furniture and bottle service.
Texture will feature resident DJs Devas8 and Kenny Perez who will mix '80s, '90s, rock, dance and Top-40.

Lex said: Dear Bay View Hopper & eaglescout: Isn’t Bayview one word? It’s clear that your disdain for one name clubs stems from your disdain for compound words. Thus you have taken creative liberties in revising the name associated with a thriving neighborhood. Further, if “all the clubbers start hanging out there and they play dj music all the time” isn’t this exactly what would make them last. I suspect that your conclusion is based on your belief for why Fly Bar didn’t last. However, there is a thing called “progress” (another one word, which would be cool for a club/bar … thanks me for the idea later) which compels corporations, churches, and even schools to refresh their surroundings for no other reason then to stay competitive. And to my dear friend eaglescout, you appear to suffer equally as much as B V H and in that one name clubs appear to be having the exact opposite effect, i.e. taking two words and combining them as one.

Mina said: Maybe OMC should be renamed "whine" cause' that's all anyone does here (and it's only one word).

Harry said: Bay View Hopper, I guess my point was what difference does it make if they name a bar using a noun, a verb, or any other part of speech? It really doesn't matter, all that matters is if they can provide good service, at a fair price that attracts customers. I've seen the building and they did a great job on the redo. Texture is a great name because of the various textures used in the design. There is a method to their madness.
