The 2006 racing season at the Milwaukee Mile is finished, but that doesn't mean that chairman Craig Stoehr is taking a vacation.
Stoehr and his partners in Badger Pacific Equity Partners LLC., Frank Andrews, Jr., and David O. Stroud, recently purchased a 20 percent ownership stake in Blue Marlin Corp., a leading designer of men's sportswear.
"This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic, growing company that has established a leading position in the contemporary sports apparel market over the past 10 years, while still having the full flexibility to concentrate on The Milwaukee Mile, other investments and real estate developments in the
Historic Third Ward, downtown Milwaukee, and other areas," said Stoehr, who was featured in a Milwaukee Talks interview earlier this year (http://onmilwaukee.com/market/articles/stoehr.html).
"Blue Marlin is a top name in the fashion industry, and having known Erik Stuebe, the company's founder and president, for almost 20 years, I'm excited about this opportunity to help the company continue to grow its business in Wisconsin and elsewhere."
Blue Marlin clothes, including popular track jackets and T-shirts, have been seen on TV shows such as "The O.C.," "Scrubs" and "Entourage."
Blue Marlin specializes in T-shirts, track jackets, sweats, denim, knitwear and headwear. Products are sold in more than 300 department stores. The company headquarters are in San Francisco, with sales offices and show rooms in New York City and Los Angeles.
