Yader hey. "Acrost" the street. Bubbler. There are so many ridiculous-yet-endearing Milwaukee -- and Wisconsin -- words and expressions. What's your favorite? Or the most annoying?
E-mail us at soundoff@staff.onmilwaukee.com and if picked, we'll post your response next Sunday. Only submissions that include your full name and where you live will be considered.
Last week's question: What are the downsides to Wi-fi?
Sure, a pay-as-you-play WiFi network throughout Milwaukee sounds like a good deal. So far, however, only one company has put an offer out on the table. You never take the first deal. We need to shop Milwaukee around a bit to the other companies (like Google, as you mentioned) to see if they can offer us something better. No matter who we sign with, Milwaukee should not agree to any sort of exclusive agreement with ANY company, Google included.

I see it as a good thing for the city. Period. It's a way to seem cosmopolitan and to attract young, smart people. We must do this.

I fear a monopoly. As long as we have options, I'm all for it.
