Would you return to a restaurant with so-so food? What about so-so service? |

Imagine that you go out for dinner to a restaurant you've wanted to try for a while. The service is amazing, but the food isn't. Maybe it's a little cold, or not very flavorful. The server is attentive and apologetic, and returns your meal to the chef. However, even the second time around, the food just isn't that great.
Now imagine you're at the same restaurant, and the food is awesome but the service is sub par. You have to ask for a glass of water twice, and the second time you ask, the server acts inconvenienced. Throughout your meal, which is delicious, you feel ignored by your server.
Which scenario would bother you more? When dining out, which is more important to you: the service or the meal? Sound-off now, Milwaukee!
The service. I can deal with food that's simply OK if I feel like my overall experience is really good, meaning the atmosphere and the service are top-notch. A nice, attentive server goes a long way when dining out.
The food. I go to restaurants for pretty much one reason: to eat good food that I can't or wouldn't make at home. If the food's not spectacular, there's no reason for me to return to the establishment when there are plenty of other restaurants with consistently delicious dishes.

agreed. when i used to go there in Florida, I sat at the bar. the bartenders were fully dressed, by the way....at least then, i dunno if it's changed. also, they obviously take advantage of the situation (perverted/horny guys who think they have a chance with these girls, not realizing they flirt with everyone in the place)....

Either way BOYS, Hooters is lame because of the mere fact that women get away with friendlier tips because the male gender is a bunch of pervs. Eli, if you like the wings so much, get them to go. That place has no class. As far as service goes, I like to surround myself with fun people at dinner... too much RELEVANT conversation to worry about how many waters I can get per minute.

Good call, z-boy... and what Hooters have you been to where the servers wore g-strings? ....you HAVE been to a Hooters right? ...no matter what, they've got some of the best chicken wings...

Sandstorm -- When a waitress is working for tips, do you think she's giving you "genuine friendly service" just because she's wearing black pants and a white shirt, as opposed to orange Daisy Duke's? :-)

Service is vital. We sat at a table at Mias in Waukesha on Saturday night and didn't get our food after waiting for an hour after ordering. I complained to the server who simply said "Well, then you can leave." No apologies - no remorse, no nothing. We won't be back.
