For some people, dating a local celebrity like a television reporter, politician or professional sports star would be fun and exciting. For others, it would be completely annoying. Where do you fall on the spectrum? Would you date -- or have you dated -- a local celebrity? Sound-off, Milwaukee!
No way. Dating a local celebrity would be a complete drag. I would hate having people whisper about us whenever we went anywhere in public or walk up to our table at a restaurant. I like my romantic affairs to be way more private, which wouldn't be possible if I dated someone recognizable. Plus, if the media exposed the affair it would make it very difficult to have a "normal" relationship.
No problem. Dating a local celeb wouldn't phase me. In fact, I wouldn't mind dating someone "locally famous" in the least. It's definitely a "big fish in a small pond" kind of situation, but I think it could be a lot of fun. And anyway, I don't date people because of what they do for a living -- I date them because of who they are.

I did...for a couple of years. Truth be known, it is what you and your other half make of it. At times there is some attention to deal with...but you have to know going in to the deal, that's part of the job. I'm journalist too...so I knew what to expect when I started dating this person. He was a perfect gentleman with a mix of understanding for the viewers who kept him employed...and the girlfriend who kept him happy :)

I AM currently with a local celebrity and it definitely has its drawbacks, people constantly wanting his time and attention in public, other women shooting him come hither looks right in front of me, the constant touching and currying of favor can be a real drag for the companion, but it can also be a great time as well. Entree into the "high life", great outdoor seating, people continually plying you with drinks and treats, my gosh, even my staid bank gives me a milk bone every time we go through the drive thru together.
