The Pleasant Street facade of Sanford restaurant, 1547 N. Jackson St., was hit by vandals overnight.
Owners Sanford and Angie D'Amato are out of the country, but Sanford's Petra Gradowski confirmed the vandalism was confined to a window, side wall and small entry area on Pleasant Street.
"It doesn't really look like anything (specific), and doesn't seem to be aimed at Sanford," said Gradowski. A nearby billboard contained similar graffiti.
According to Gradowski, D'Amato's father Sam has contacted the city's graffiti removal team.
Sanford recently made Gourmet magazine's annual list of the "Top 50" restaurants in America.
