Milwaukee ranks #11 on Newsmax magazine's "25 Top Uniquely American Cities & Towns" list. Wichita, Kan., Madison, Wis., and Chapel Hill, N.C. made the top three. The rankings are in the publication's May print issue and online.
Newsmax.com, a site that claims 4 million unique monthly readers, ranked cities from 1-10 in the following categories: hospitality, wholesomeness, family-friendliness, business-friendliness, devotion to religion, culture, community activities, scenic beauty, and education.
The magazine has this to say about Milwaukee:
"This city is undoubtedly big, but doesn't overlook the value of unity, particularly when it comes to honoring veterans. The Paralyzed Veterans of America recently voted Milwaukee the nation's Most Patriotic City. And through its preservation efforts, the city was named a National Historic Trust "Distinctive Destination." Some standout historical structures include the elegant Pabst Mansion and the Milwaukee Public Museum, which showcases "Old Milwaukee;" preserved neighborhoods such as Old World Third Street."

I think Milwaukee could really capitalize on this honor by making t-shirts that say: "We're #11!" but make it all unique with a crazy font.
