If a great script along with great actors is your thing, Nevermore Theatre's production of "Hamlet" should be on your screen.
We don't need to say anything about "Hamlet," which some people think may be the greatest play of William Shakespeare.
As far as actors go, this cast features Joe Foust, Angela Iannone, Chase Stoeger, Rick Pendzich Andrew Truschinski and Bill Clifford. It's worth it just to go see Foust, one of the busiest and best actors in Chicago, and Stoeger, who just returned from work in Oregon.
Michael DiPadova, the founder of Nevermore, directs this production and it's sure to have an edge.
Nevermore is committed to great plays with great acting and not much else, so don't expect fancy sets or sound. But, you can expect the essence of what great theatre ought to be.
As an actor I'd love to work at Nevermore but I've never been called for an audition. Maybe someday.
You can get tickets for the play at the Off-Broadway theatre center in the Third Ward by calling (414) 278-0765. The play runs from Jan. 5 to 21.
