Jacques French Cafe, 1001 S. 1st St., will move across the street to a bigger space later this summer. Owner Jacques Chaumet purchased the old Forelle Fish Netting building, 1022 S. 1st St., and is in the process of remodeling. Chaumet says he tried to buy his current building, but it didn't work out.

The new restaurant is called Chez Jacques, and features a similar menu as the old Jacques, but will offer dinners -- unlike the current cafe -- thanks to a full kitchen in the new space. "We'll offer bistro-style cuisine at affordable prices," says Chaumet.

After five years in business, Jacques Cafe will close on Sunday, July 30, and Chaumet says the new restaurant will be ready, hopefully, by the end of the summer or very early fall. In the mean time, Jacques Cafe is open for business as usual, and will host a World Cup party this Sunday.
