I slept through it and my parents, who live in SE Wisconsin said they didn't feel it, either, although they were awake at the time. The only time I ever felt an earthquake was in Brooklyn, of all places.

I live near I-894 and awoke at 4:37 to the strangeness of my bed vibrating and the stuff on my dresser and nightstand rattling. I thought that a large vehicle had hit something on the freeway since we do hear traffic noise occasionally. I then had a feeling that it might be an EQ, but in Wisconsin? I experienced one in 1996 in Ixtapa, Mexico so I kinda remembered how it felt. It was not quite as loud or frightening as that explosion from the Falk Corp. back in 2006 which shook my entire house.

Being an insomniac, I was laying in bed, tossing when I realized that my bed was shaking... and then I realized my windows were also rattling... I have to admit, I figured it was either a tremor or the people downstairs getting busy (gross), but I was a little freaked out. I even invited my dog up on the bed to join me (it even woke him up).

I woke up around that time this morning because of a sound like the wood in my apartment building creaking and making a tic, tic, tic sound and a very, very dull, barely inaudible thunder sound. I live near the lake in an older building from 1916 and I live on the 4th floor. After I awoke to the noise, I could feel a weird sensation of wobbling and swaying. My girlfriend awoke next to me and asked what I was doing. I told her I wasn't doing anything. We both sat quiet for the next 20-30 seconds as the wobbling slowly subsided. We didn't know exactly what it was but we immediately suspected that it was a minor earthquake or tremor. Lo and behold this morning and we are not crazy!

This earthquake must be a result of "Global Warming."
