Milwaukee's newest radio station, "The Hog (102.9 FM)," debuted Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. with Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold" proclaiming, "Here I come again now, baby. Like a dog in heat."
News emerged yesterday that after 18 years, Lazer 103 was signing off. On air announcers say the station will "play everything that rocks, not just stuff from one decade." Long-time Lazer program director and DJ Marilynn Mee will be reassigned.
On the station's Web site, a statement from popular morning team Bob and Brian said, "Seems as if management finally listened to us and started playing stuff we like. We say it's about time."
The Hog's Web site is 1029thehog.com.

Downtoearth said: Lazer was on the "REAL" The Hog has a Paper Mascot. Fantasy like. Just a little FAKE. And the callers sound like they smoke anything they can get their hands on and live in their parents basements yet. The music is old and worn out. That New Station Smell is being drowned out by the stench of OLD AND WORN OUT TUNES. And if your going to rank on new rock why would you advertise concerts of bands you don't play. Instead of the Hog, you should be the Heritic station.

Uncle J said: The HOG sucks. The Brew bit into their market and instead of trying to beat them they decided to join them. By playing the exact same crap. I'm so glad that I got Sirius the reception isnt as good as I hoped but its better than listening to the crap that these jokers are throwing out on the airwaves. When I heard about the change I listened in for a day. Thats all it took to figure out that unimaginative lump of pig crap for what it is. Its just too bad KLH got stuck with Marilynn Mee. She rode LZR's music selection into the ground. What makes you think she'll do any different at KLH. Its not like Craig Kilpatrick is lighting anybody up over there. Well, here is to the death of FM in Milwaukee!
