I've started rehearsals for a play called "Getting Out," which opens the end of the month at Dramatists Theatre.
This young professional company has an interesting approach to each season. They take one playwright and do plays by the same writer. This year they are doing the plays of Marsha Norman, who won a Pulitzer Prize for her play, "Night Mother."
Getting Out is the story of a woman who gets out of prison and tries to build a new life after being a murder, prostitute and several other delightful professions. The play will be at a delightful space at the Marian Center for Non-Profits on Milwaukee's South Side.
Tickets can be had by calling (414) 243-9168. The play is rough, with lots of profanity and some strong sexual activity. So leave the kids at home, but do yourself a favor and support this young professional theater company.
