Farwell Music, 2218 N. Farwell Ave., will close permanently on Saturday, March 25 at 7 p.m., according to owner Luke Lavin. Lavin told OnMilwaukee.com that the building's landlord had received an offer for the space at double the rent Farwell Music was paying. Although the landlord offered Lavin the opportunity to match the offer, he was unable to do so.
At press time, Lavin was talking with the owners of Comet Cafe about renting a portion of the space on Irving Place that was home to the Constant Reader book shop. He is looking to open a new shop, with a new name, there.
