Is there a vegetable in your garden that resembles you? An eggplant with your head shape or a green bean with your build, perhaps? If so, America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin and the Westown Association invite you to enter the second annual Crazy Veggie Contest that will determine who has the vegetable that looks most like its grower as well as the craziest, largest and smallest veggie.

The Crazy Veggie Contest, part of the Westown Farmer's Market's "Harvest for the Hungry Day," is scheduled for Wed., Sept. 17 at the Westown Farmer's Market in Zeidler Union Square on 4th Street and Michigan Avenue.

Prizes will be awarded.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and judging starts at 12:30 p.m. Dave Edwards, General Manager for Milwaukee Public Radio WUWM, and Sherrif Clarke will serve as two of the judges.

Since 1996, Harvest for the Hungry has distributed over 246,000 pounds of fresh produce to people in need.

"The Crazy Vegetable Contest is a creative way to bring attention to the problem of hunger," says Stacy Callies, marketing and events director for the Westown Association.
