The Milwaukee Press Club is bottling up some city water to help Milwaukee celebrate its birthday and to celebrate one of our most essential resources here in Cream City. The commemorative bottles will be distributed at the City of Milwaukee Birthday Party, Jan. 27, 2009 at Discovery World.
In the meantime, the Press Club wants your help naming the water.
Among the sample name suggestions on the Club's Web site, include "Cream City Clear -- the cream of the crop" and "Wave of the Future - bottled at Milwaukee's well of knowledge."
Here's what you do. Go to the Web site, fill out a contest entry form with your suggestion by Nov, 24. Then, return to the site after Dec. 1 to vote on the entries.
How will you find out if you picked the winner? Go to the party, get your free six-pack of water and read the label! If you win, they'll recognize you at the party and in the Press Club's "Once a Year" magazine.

Isn't bottled water the next SUV? I'd guess that many of those concerned about the future of Lake Michigan and fresh water are not big fans of bottled water and the plastic waste it creates. Agree? But, it is convenient.

Note to the Press Club---The word "Cream" should absolutely NOT be in the name of any water. It's disgusting.
