Milwaukee's Michelle Anthony appeared on a broadcast of NPR's "Mountain Stage" music program at the end of October, alongside KD Lang, Bruce Cockburn and fado star Mariza. The performances were taped on Oct. 3 in Charleston, W.V. The popular "Mountain Stage" program is not currently broadcast in the Milwaukee area.
Anthony, who returns to Milwaukee to play at Points East Pub on Nov. 15 performed the songs "Closer," "White Lies" and "Don't Deny." A fourth tune, "Radio Waves" didn't make the final broadcast.
The former Capital 8 singer has been receiving rave reviews nationally for her first solo disc, "Stand Fall Repeat," recorded in Chicago with former Wilco member Jay Bennett.
The program's Web site is mountainstage.org. Anthony's Web site is michelleanthonymusic.com.
