According to a sign on the door, Abu's Jerusalem restaurant, 1978 E. Farwell Ave., has closed, but will reopen by the end of April, after renovation work is completed.

Abu's has been serving falafel sandwiches, rosewater lemonade and a host of other Middle Eastern delights for more than 30 years. It is the oldest Middle Eastern restaurant in Milwaukee.

Michael said: "Renovation" is a relative term when used to describe Abu's. It means wash the windows and bring in new plants. I hope the food doesn't change - it has always been very good.

CJ said: The last time the renovated was too much of a renovation, unless you call a car driving through your front window (which happened to them) renovation. I'm wondering if they are expanding into the building more.. maybe removing the counter?
