Had dinner there on a recent Saturday night and it was TERRIBLE. Food was bland, service was slow, tortillas were cold and hard, and the salsa was like tomato sauce with a bit of cilantro. We had fish tacos and spicy (misnomer) pork tacos. Both were flavorless; worse, they were cold despite a substantial wait for the meal. I highly recommend practically any other Mexican place in town. Jalapeno Loco is definitely a favorite. Pepe's, not so much.

This is a great little find on the East Side. The drink specials were great (2 for 1) on a Thursday night. The group I went with tried different foods, and all of it was good...although some things were definitely better than others. Prices were right where other East Side joints are set at, but the drink specials are a nice discount.

Pepe's is for those who truely appreciate REAL baja-style Mexican food. If you don't like it, you don't get it and you are a pure mid-westerner. Pepe's food rocks and is truely a little piece of Mexico in Milwaukee. Nothing better than a Pepe's taco on a corn tortilla. Thanks Pepe's!

Went on a Friday night around 6pm... It got pretty crowded around 7. You get a bowl of fresh salsa and warm tortilla chips to munch on before you place your order. My boyfriend had the steak burritos, and I had the beef one. It had a really good flavor and came with a choice side of beans or rice. The tomatoes and lettuce were really fresh. I will definitely go back again and try other menu items. We also received complimentary churros after the meal... give Pepe's a try!

I loved this place! We went on Friday night and are planning on going back tonight. The food was awesome and not too badly priced (compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood.) They have a chorizo cheese dip that is amazing. Waitstaff wasn't all that great but it's hard finding really good waiters and waitresses now-a-days anyways. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
