Seriously, how do we get this thing to Milwaukee? |

Maybe it's because the weather it beginning to warm, maybe it's because Bike to Work Week starts in three days (June 6-12), or maybe it's in part thanks to the $350 I just dumped into my car to replace a part I can't even remember the name of, but I've had biking on the brain a lot lately.
Last summer I got pretty into tracking my Gas-Free Commute via a Web site of the same name, and all the calories I was burning and money I was saving on gas was more than enough motivation to keep me cycling to work all season.
Well, today I write this bike-related blog fueled by completely different motivations. I was recently introduced to the Pedal Pub, which, for all intents and purposes of this blog, is one of the greatest entertainment devices ever created.
Here's the deal: The company supplies its own driver, and you supply everything else: friends, food, drinks and a bit of calf muscle. The tours include pub crawls, scenic rides, picnics and tailgating.
Unfortunately, this magical piece of machinery is located in Minneapolis, but I challenge some bike-loving entrepreneur to get this going here in Milwaukee. My guess is that it'd be a hit with the locals.
Come on; who needs BYO booze at Jazz in the Park when you can load 16 friends onto a shared bike and have some "slow fun" while eating, drinking and / or sightseeing?

Great advice, Steven! You are a master of the obvious...I thought you could just do whatever you wanted, where and whenever you wanted...especially when alcohol is involved. I guess there goes my idea about operating a Pedal Pub between the Zoo and the Betty Brinn Museum with a keg of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel on board. Ah, the children would've loved it!

Somebody better check the laws in Milwaukee and Wisconsin about having alcohol on a Pedal Pub before they buy one. My guess is that it might be a problem.

Minneapolis has a lot of great cycling cafes and bars, both stationary and on the go. http://www.bikecommuters.com/2009/05/23/an-all-too-brief-look-at-minneapolis-bike-culture/ I hope we get a lot of participation during Bike to Work Week. I would love to get coffee and commute to work in a pack.
