It makes me sad that La Fuente and La Perla consistently make the top of the lists for "Best Mexican Food" and "Best Margaritas." Both are so overrated, and frankly, not good! There are a ton of good Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee that aren't "mainstream" but most people don't venture out to them because of the neighborhoods they are located in. Well, don't let that stop you! You don't know what you're missing! El Tucanazo on 16th Street used to serve THE best margaritas. Unfortunately the bar portion is closed, but there is still a small cafe open where you can get the food, which is also fantastic. Cielto Lindo should be higher on the list too. And they should definitely win for "Best Salsa"! YUM.

I can't speak for Cempazuchi's margaritas (I've never been there) but if it does not contain 100% Blue Agave Tequila and fresh lime juice it shouldn't even be in the conversation. Most of these drinks at these so called "Mexican restaurants" can be had from the 7-11 slurpee machine. I mean the margarita isn't even a mexican drink. I was more than likely created in America -the country that invented cocktails. You want a good margarita, go to a decent bar with a good bartender. They can probably whip one up . It's not that hard. Come on OMC this is BAR MONTH - your embarrassing yourselves.

As far as I know Cempazuchi is the only one to use fresh squeezed limes! Most of the others mentioned use Rose's. Cempazuchi is such a great place. It is always a pleasure to go there.

antoniohedache-you hit the nail right on the head....pre-made margarita mixes like La Fuentes are disgusting and filled with chemicals.

I was at Cempazuchi about a month ago. I hadn't been in about 5 years. Holy cow!!! There margaritta's are amazing!! I would agree that Cempazuchi is far better than La Fuente's. Also, the Botana's 3 Generations margarita is darn good too!
