The Milwaukee Bar Book, a compilation of 100 two-for-one drink coupons, has been available for a few weeks now. Sales -- at $15 each -- are "going well," according to organizer Ian Abston who hatched the idea while drinking in Oshkosh.
To officially kick off the book's entry into the Milwaukee bar scene, two kick off parties are scheduled at Fat Daddy's, 120 W. National Ave., in Walker's Point. The first is Sunday, May 11, from 6-8 p.m., and the second is Thursday, May 22, from 9-11 p.m.
The parties will feature drink specials and, of course, opportunities to buy the book. The pocket-sized book is organized by geographic hotspots in Milwaukee and features detailed bar descriptions, contact information, maps and cab phone numbers.
The Bar Book is partnered promotionally with and featured in OnMilwaukee.com, Alcoholmanac and CITIGal Magazine. It's available online and at participating establishments such as the Hi-Hat Lounge, Karma Bar, Monkey Bar, Fat Daddy's, Jo Jo's Martini Lounge, Leff's Lucky Town, Long Wong's and the Lakefront Brewery.
$1 from each sale is donated to Junior Achievement of Milwaukee.
