I'm pretty sure that by forcing my employees to wear Halloween costumes every year, I'm violating some sort of human resources law.
Fine, send me to jail. It's worth it.
For at least the sixth year, and it might be longer, our entire staff embraced (voluntarily or otherwise) Halloween spirit today and donned some great and original costumes.
Next to April Fool's day, it's my favorite work day of the year.
We've got Bobby, who's dressed as a player from the Wave (he borrowed Keith Tozer's uniform). Molly is a scandalous Bettie Page, who is showing almost as much skin as I did last year as Britney Spears (but unlike me, Molly isn't grossing anyone out).
Jeff is an NBA ref, while John is Julius Caesar. Caroline is "Mad Men's" Joan Hollaway, and Maureen is a '60s mod chick.
Speaking of chicks, Michelle is running around like a chicken with her head cut off, and Nick is the future version of himself. Jenn is a vampiress Sid is "dead Sid," and Anders is a zookeeper. Jason is an image frequently spray painted by guerilla British artist "Banksy," which is both obscure and confusing. I haven't seen Julie, Erin or Drew yet, but we're expecting good things from all three.
For the record, I'm Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin.
I swear, no matter how old I get, as long as I'm one of the owners of OnMilwaukee.com, we're keeping this tradition going. There are precious few times when acting like a kid isn't just encouraged, it's mandated. And today is one of these days.
Should you care to see our motley crew in action, we're heading to Hooligan's at 12:30 p.m. for our annual Halloween lunch, in costume, of course. We'll vote and hand out prizes for best (and perhaps for worst) office costumes. Though this year, it'll be especially hard to pick a winner.
Happy Halloween, Milwaukee.
