You've seen packed houses for interleague games between the Brewers and Twins. You've thrilled as Wisconsin players partied with the Paul Bunyan Axe after beating the Gophers. You cringe when you hear the Viking horn blast every time a play goes against the Packers in the Metrodome.
Did you know the Wisconsin-Minnesota rivalry also extends to comedy?
BigBoned Comedy, the troupe that performs on the first Wednesday of the month upstairs at the BBC, 2022 E. North Ave., is ready for battle and wants your help.
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, three members of the despised-but-not-feared Minneapolis Comedy Death Squad will visit Milwaukee to take on three members of Arthur Hinty's BigBoned Comedy crew in a battle to determine which state rules and which state sucks!
Admission to the show, which is sponsored by 42Below Vodka, is $5 and $3 for students with valid ID. The fun starts at 9 p.m.
"We'll have monologues, debates, trivia contests, a game of the "dozens," a comparison of our sports teams, and even video presentations -- all building up our own state while tearing down the other," Hinty said. "At the end there will be a clear winner -- or, more correctly, a clear loser. And, we'll have a lot of fun."
BigBoned has a strong lineup, with Johnny Beehner, Arthur Hinty and David Hinton in the starting lineup. But the Deathsquad is a grizzled, veteran outfit not afraid of hostile crowds (or performance-enhancing substances).
If you'd like to help BigBoned Comedy prepare for the event -- and it really is your civic duty to do so -- submit your funniest, nastiest, meanest, most hilarious Minnesota joke to BigBoned Comedy! The BigBoned crew will review every entry and choose a winner. The winner will get a chance to present the joke during the show Jan. 7 (if he or she wishes to), or the joke will be presented by one of the performers!
The winner also receives a prize pack that includes:
Four other entrants will be chosen at random to receive two free passes.
Send entries to bigbonedcomedy@gmail.com. The deadline is 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3. The winner will be announced Monday, Jan. 5.

This is a visual joke...Take a cellophane wrapper off a pack of cigarettes. Turn it upside down and ask the Vikings fan what it is. When they say , "I don't know" Tell them it is the Minnesota Vikings trophy case. Also works well with Lions Fan.
