What is a blog? For us it is a short blurb that we write when the mood strikes us. It can be first person, funny or informative. In short, a blog is whatever we want it to be. Published Feb. 19, 2009 at 10:25 a.m.

Business is better here. You know why, because we're Milwaukee. We're tough, grounded and know how to have fun. And, fun -- for many who choose to drink responsibility -- is rooted in our tavern tradition.

Today, OnMilwaukee.com debuts two "Support Local Business" tees that proudly proclaim and champion our recession proof businesses, bars, clubs and alcohol (in moderation, of course.)

These T-shirts, the second in a series a new event- and topic-driven fashion from OnMilwaukee.com, are once again created by and marketed with Inferno Marketing and City Screen Print and Embroider.

The shirts, available at the links below, feature two designs. One with a bar stool and a second with a map of metro Milwaukee. Both carry the tag line, "Support Local Business, Get Drunk!"

Buy a shirt, belly up and support local business!

well, i was going to buy a shirt but the website is not very friendly. it's telling me they accept all major credit/debit cards but then it says i have to pay with paypal. i don't use paypal, nor do i want to sign up for paypal so i guess i'm not getting a shirt after all.....they really are pretty funny though!

Why are people ashamed of Milwaukee's proud beer and water history? Sure we are more than beer and brats, but we're based in one of the richest brewing traditions in the world -- embrace it and laugh it, if you need. Because or our connection to the Great Lakes, beer was brewed here and still is. Now we've taken this technology and used it in so many other ways. Yet, we remain a strong beer town with community centers called taverns. Those who fear who they are are destined to be defeated.

Way to reinforce the stereotype. I'm surprised you couldn't put a brat and some cheese somewhere on the shirt too.

Reader Poll
If you could choose, would you prefer December or March to stay warm and snowless in Milwaukee?
December. I'm not ready for winter yet.
March. By then, I need winter to be over.
There's no use complaining or hoping for better weather in Wisconsin.
Actually, I like snow.
